  • This Tuesday, July 17, at 7 PM, DC Road Runners Club conducts its annual Hugh Jascourt Four Mile race at Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road, Washington DC. DCRRC conducts races throughout the year. See www.dcroadrunners.org
  • This Wednesday, July 18, at 12 noon, Tidal Basin Run conducts its free monthly 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m also at Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road, Washington DC. Tidal Basin Run conducts races free on the third Wednesday of every month and cheap on national holidays. Tidal Basin Run also conducted yesterday's Grant-Pierce Indoor Marathon, where I finished 5th in 3:33:11. See www.racepacket.com/tidalbasin
  • Safety And Health Foundation, which directed today's DC International Festival 5K, conducts the 6th annual Friends of the W&OD 10K in Vienna VA on Saturday, July 28, at 6:30 PM. If you enjoyed today's 5K, you'll love Friends of the W&OD 10K, the DC area's GREEN race. SHF also conducts the 9 1/2th annual Potomac River Run Marathon and Half on Sunday, November 18, at 9:00 AM, at Carderock Recreation Area, in memory of Dean Shulman; and the 10th annual Potomac River Run Marathon and Half on Sunday, May 5, 2013.   • High Cloud Foundation conducts the 8th Abebe Bikila Day International Peace Half Marathon on Saturday, September 15, at 8:00 AM in Georgetown. See https://safetyandhealthfoundation.org/20120915/
  • Marathon Charity Cooperation conducts training runs every Saturday morning at 7 AM, and also Revenge of the Penguins 10M and 20M on Sunday, September 16. See www.mc-coop.org for full information
  • We are thinking about a very small, low-key marathon on Labor Day, September 3, as a last chance to qualify for 2013 Boston Marathon before registration opens on September 10, 2012. If you're interested, please let me know.
