Thank you for entering the 10th Annual Potomac River Run Marathon

This is the first of several weekly messages about our upcoming marathon and half.

CHANGE OF VENUE

To accommodate a school group who wants to do a 5K memorial race on May 5 at Carderock for a beloved teacher, National Park Service asked us to consider -- and we agreed -- to move the race to start and finish at Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road, Washington DC.

For a course map, see http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5871974

The course will be USATF-certified.

The new venue starts in DC and runs into Maryland in its first mile, so 50-staters can count it either as their DC race or their MD race. The new venue is MUCH MORE CONVENIENT -- just two miles west of Georgetown, bicycling distance from DC on the Capital Crescent Trail, just 10 minutes from Key Bridge Marriott, with equivalent on-site parking and some off-site parking up Reservoir Road.

We had considered Fletcher's Cove when we first designed this race, and we're happy about the change.

I updated the web site tonight with this new information.
