Thank you for entering Abebe Bikila Marathon & Half

We have sublime weather today -- we hope it stays cool tomorrow with no rain!

All the bib numbers are made, the medals are ribboned, the t-shirts are delivered, and my van is full of bananas, bagels, bottled water, clementines, Craisins, Nilla Wafers, and (I had to do it...) Snickers.

Packet pick-up is today, 2 PM to 6 PM, at Georgetown Running Company, 3401 M Street NW, Washington DC 20007

and tomorrow, 7:30 AM to 8:45 AM, on-site at Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road NW, Washington DC, about two miles due west of Georgetown, the first break in the four-mile-long fieldstone wall that separates Canal Road from C&O Canal.

Please if you can, park up Reservoir Road, as parking at Fletcher's Cove is limited. The upper parking area at Fletcher's Cover has spaces for 26 cars. our enormous boulders separate the open parking area for the overflow parking area. If you're first on the scene tomorrow and feel like some heavy lifting, maybe about 10 athletes can form a team and move the smallest of the four boulders and thus create overflow parking for 50 more cars.

Once the upper lot is full, stay right and go thru the tunnel unde C&O Canal to the riverside lot with about 300 spaces.

If you want someone else to pick up your packet today, please give them a signed note with your name, if you can.

I want to thank our newest sponsor, Bobbi Foley of Isagenix (www.bobbifoley.isagenix.com, 540-359-2344) who will provide breakfast energy shakes on race morning. Look in your goodie bag for the Isagenix flyer.

Also of note: At the start, the marathon midpoint, and the finish, we will offer Dr. Simone's Super Energy Formula, designed for soldiers on the Desert Storm battlefield, and in my opinion, the best powdered energy drink ever for recovery post-marathon. Read
