Entries:
We currently have 9 entries, and we expect two more, so our field is small. If you know any runners interested, please invite them!
See www.safetyandhealthfoundation.org/20120901 to register.
Schedule:
Potomac Valley Track Club hosts a youth meet at the same track ending about 2:00 PM.
PVTC also hosts a pentathlon ending with a 1500-meter race, ending about 2:30 PM, so the track may be in usage till then.
We open packet pick-up at 2:15-2:45 PM. Please wear your bib number visibly on the front of your shirt or shorts.
We start after the 1500-meter race ends or 3:00 PM.
As soon as possible after the pentathlon 1500-meter, we move four tents out onto the track so we can have some shade at least briefly.
We have one table for water, one for PowerBar Energy Blasts, one for athletic beverage, one for Campbell's V-8 V-Fusion Wildberry Smoothie.
Weather:
Alas, the weather forecast is for a hot day on Saturday.
Our prayers for the residents of the Gulf Coast, battered today by Hurricane Isaac.
The weather forecast here does not indicate that rainy weather is headed our way.
Lap Timing:
We are grateful to our lap timers. We expect a total of six lap timers throughout the afternoon and evening.
An example lap-counter sheet is on-line at www.safetyandhealthfoundation.org/20120901/LapCounter.pdf
We pay lap counters $50 who time the full race for 3 or more runners;$25 for a half shift.
Lap counters record each runner's lap time for each lap and inform their runners how many laps completed and how many remaining.
Awards & Results:
We offer cash bonuses: $50 each for the first male and first female; plus a $50 bonus for a world record (sub 2:48:34 for men, sub 3:53:21 for women).
We prepare and publish complete results as soon as possible at
www.safetyandhealthfoundation.org/20120901.html
so you can use them to qualify for future races.
Thank you for joining us!
